PPS Teacher Strike: Information & Resources
The Portland Association of Teachers (PAT), the teachers’ union for Portland Public Schools (PPS), has voted to go on strike beginning November 1st. At our October 5th, 2023 General Meeting, Padres Unidos de Rigler/PTA approved this bilingual Statement of Solidarity with PAT by a unanimous vote of all attendees. We call on PPS to commit to providing the resources needed to support every student and to retain quality teachers.
We understand that any unexpected closure of schools is a hardship for families, as it is for teachers too. So Padres Unidos have compiled a list of resources for the Rigler Community to support both families and teachers during this time.
