Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
This year we will have several volunteer opportunities at the school on a daily and weekly basis to assist with student supervision duties, allowing admin and support staff to take care of their regular tasks. Please consider signing up for a shift - or even a partial shift! It takes a village!
Please note that volunteers must complete the volunteer training and background check for PPS to participate. If you have any questions or need assistance for this training please contact Rigler at (503) 916-6451.
Bus/Crosswalk Duty (7:40-8:00a.m. daily): Help students transition from bus to the school cafeteria, assist students/families crossing NE 55th with help of Safety Patrol.
Morning Cafeteria Duty (7:40-8:00a.m. daily): Help students get breakfast items in the cafeteria and assist staff with morning release to their classrooms.
Portland Backpack (2:30-3:00p.m. on Thursdays): Help organize/distribute nonperishable bags of food that are sent home to a predetermined group of students.
PAW Store (8:30-10:00a.m. on Fridays): The PAW Store is open every Friday and is where students can “spend” their hard-earned PAW rewards on toys and prizes. Time slots include a few minutes before and after to set up and get things placed back into the storage area.
Can’t volunteer? Consider a donation for prizes and supplies. Please note your donation is for the PAW Store and we’ll take care of the rest.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation:
Join the Teacher/Staff Appreciation team! We're looking for volunteers to coordinate ways to show the wonderful staff at Rigler how much we appreciate all the hard work they put into our students! Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate a potluck for the teachers and staff during parent-teacher conference week in November, and come up with creative ways to support the teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. Fundraising:
Padres Unidos has many creative fundraising campaigns going all year long. We're looking for volunteers to help head up these campaigns and also secure other funds for our school from the broader Portland community. This could include restaurant nights, corporate giving, community sponsors, and more! Email riglerinfo@gmail.com or text "fundraising" to 833-412-0232 to volunteer today!
